Shutting down Sherman’s trauma services more of a problem for patients than EMTs, Elgin fire chief says

Advocate Sherman Hospital’s loss of its Level II trauma center standing hasn’t so far had a huge effect on Elgin Fire Department’s ability to handle emergency situations like car crashes, brain injuries and major burns but that’s not to say it won’t have an effect, Fire Chief Robb Cagann said Tuesday.
