U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries was elected Wednesday to succeed Nancy Pelosi as House Democratic leader. The historic election makes Jeffries the first Black major party leader in Congress. On Thursday, the congressman chatted with National Action Network founder Al Sharpton about how he plans to navigate bipartisanship, extremism and other issues with other lawmakers.
