Twenty years ago on Aug. 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina made landfall in New Orleans as a Category 3 storm, forever altering the history of the Gulf Coast and setting in motion a catastrophic mix of natural disaster, poverty, racism, neglect, destruction, and death.
