One of columnist Phil Potempa’s favorite Halloween memories is the career of Vampira, the ghoulish TV alter ego of actress Maila Nurmi who started off as a late night TV host of horror movies and starred in Ed Wood’s cult classic “Plan 9 From Outer Space.”
