The Fort MacPherson, Ga., redevelopment authority has approved a preliminary master plan proposed by Bishop T.D. Jakes, the TV evangelist based in Dallas, to develop 95 acres into affordable housing and shopping.
The property is next to Tyler Perry Studios. Jakes’ vision is for affordable housing, shops, open space and cultural amenities.
“This is just a preliminary plan of T.D. Jakes,” Atlanta City Councilwoman Joyce Sheperd, who oversees the Fort MacPherson area, told the Saporta Report. “There’s still a huge amount of community input that will be going into the plan. This plan is just in the beginning stages.”
