Protestors will march to the Texas state capitol in Austin on Saturday to demand the release of a jailed Black man who shot and killed a police detective carrying out a no-knock warrant seven years ago.

The group, organized by the Grassroots Law Project, will march from the George Washington Carver Museum to the state capitol, reports the Killeen (Texas) Daily Herald

Marchers are supporters of Marvin Guy, 56, who has remained in the Bell County, Texas, Jail awaiting trial since 2014, when he fatally shot Killeen Police Det. Charles Dinwiddie, who was executing a no-knock drug raid on Guy’s apartment. Guy’s bonds total $4 million.

“Our demand is simple but urgent: Bring Marvin home as quickly as possible,” the project said in a statement.

As of Thursday, court records showed no trial date, the Herald reported.
