SPORTS HISTORY IN BLACK: Karl Malone reaches points milestone

When you think of the best power forwards in professional basketball history, one name
that has to be mentioned is Karl Malone. The talented forward from Louisiana Tech was
drafted by the Utah Jazz back in the 1985 NBA Draft and quickly paired with point guard
John Stockton to form one of the most dangerous duos in NBA history.

Over time, Malone and Stockton would not only terrorize the rest of the NBA but also
accumulate numbers and the respect of their peers.

And on Nov. 20, 1992, Malone reached a milestone that brought him even more respect in professional basketball. The veteran power forward would score 34 points in a 97-95 win over the Indiana Pacers. In accumulating that amount of points, Malone would eclipse the 15,000-point mark of his career.
