SPORTS HISTORY IN BLACK: Michael Jordan and the Bulls defeat Utah Jazz in finals

Michael Jordan’s legacy is locked in as one of the greatest of all-time. However, that did not happen overnight. It was cemented for him in the 1990s.

The Bulls were the team of the ’90s and there was no doubt about that. They kept many teams from winning the title over their time and the Utah Jazz was one of those teams.

The Jazz, led by forward Karl Malone and point guard John Stockton, faced the Bulls twice in the NBA Finals. And twice they would lose to them.

The most recent loss happened on June 14, 1998, when Jordan and the Bulls came to Utah and won an 87-86 thriller. This win would give the Bulls their sixth championship in the ’90s.
