In Minneapolis, the first name that often comes to mind is Prince Rogers Nelson. The talented “Purple Rain” singer will forever be remembered for the incredible music he created. But there is another man that will forever be remembered for all that he did in Minneapolis and his name was Kirby Puckett.
The former Minnesota Twin played 12 seasons in Minneapolis and wanted to play even more. Unfortunately, loss of vision in one eye forced Puckett to make other plans. On July 12, 1996, Puckett retired from baseball.
