SPORTS HISTORY IN BLACK: Saquon Barkley sets a running record

In the NFL’s NFC East division, none of the four football teams are fond of one another. So imagine what happens when one of the teams loses its best player to another
team? This was the scenario inhe 2024 offseason, when running back
Saquon Barkley left the New York Giants for the Philadelphia Eagles. The addition of
Barkley, paired with the Eagles’ offensive line, gave the Eagles the best rushing attack
in the NFL.

The Eagles and Barkley stood out each week. And on that journey towards domination, on Nov. 24, 2024, Barkley, facing the Los Angeles Rams, would run for a franchise record of 255 yards.

It was one of the best performances of Barkley’s career. The Eagles would go on to beat the Rams 42-20.
