The Rev. Jesse Jackson, recently released from a Chicago-area hospital after battling coronavirus, will be in New York Friday to celebrate his 80th birthday with fellow activist the Rev. Al Sharpton, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, Democratic mayoral nominee and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and more.

The fete will take place at the Harlem headquarters of the National Action Network, the advocacy organization founded by Sharpton, who was mentored by Jackson.

Attendees aim to honor Jackson’s life work. The event will be livestreamed at www.nationalactionnetwork.net beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET Friday.
