Bouncing off of the passage of a sweeping new voter suppression law, the New Georgia Project campaign is working this week to mobilize voters and get them registered for 1,500 municipal elections.

“Voting connects young people to the future,” Keron Blair, chief organizing and field officer at the New Georgia Project, said in a statement. “Through their vote and participation, they can design the world they want to live in and the one we all share.”

Blair added, “For National Voter Registration Week, we’re hitting the streets of underserved communities across the state to register and empower young people.”

This week, the project is registering potential voters at 75 events across Georgia.
