SPORTS HISTORY IN BLACK: 20 assists for Rondo in Celtics’ win over Knicks

Former Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo was not sure where he would fit when the team drafted him in 2006. But he formed a Big Three with guard Ray Allen and forward Kevin Garnett. The future Hall of Fame players poured into Rondo, pushing him to be the leader and be himself on the court. Once Rondo accepted that, he took it from there.

Rondo was the unquestioned leader on the court and even after the Celtics’ 2008 championship season, he still commanded attention. His basketball wizardry and leadership was evident on March 4, 2012, when he was the perfect maestro on the
court, dishing out 20 assists on the way to a triple double in a 115-111 win over the New York Knicks.
