SPORTS HISTORY IN BLACK: Another Knicks v. Pacers battle — more than 30 years ago

The most crucial words in any sport are Game 7, and on Jun 5, 1994, that was certainly the case with NBA basketball in Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The New York Knicks, led by center Patrick Ewing, were up against the Indiana Pacers, led by guard Reggie Miller. These two teams were mortal enemies in the 1990s, and this game was just another chapter in their ongoing battles.

Ewing, as the leader of the Knicks, set the tone, scoring 24 points and grabbing 22
rebounds. And in front of the raucous New York City crowd, the Knicks would defeat the
Pacers and head to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1973. Unfortunately, the
Knicks would go on to lose to the Houston Rockets in seven games.
