Sports history in Black: Chicago Bulls draft Scottie Pippen

Comic book characters like Batman and Superman are remembered as being the lead characters in each story in which they are featured. But what about the sidekicks? Sure, Superman didn’t really have a sidekick, but most remember Robin, who was Batman’s sidekick. And to be honest, Batman needed Robin more than he wanted to let on.

And much in the way that Batman needs Robin, Michael Jordan needed Scottie Pippen. Together, they both won six titles for the Chicago Bulls over an eight-year span. The Bulls franchise noticed Jordan needed a perfect Robin  to put beside him and on October 14, 1987, Pippen was drafted by the Bulls with their first-round pick. The rest is Bulls history.
