Sports history in Black: Deion Sanders plays two professional sports in one day

As children, many boys and girls often played different sports. It wasn’t uncommon for kids to play football, basketball and baseball. And some athletes also played multiple sports at the collegiate level; sometimes football players played basketball or baseball. But when have you ever seen a professional athlete play two sports in one day?

On October 11, 1992, Deion Sanders made that happen.

Sanders was on the field for the Atlanta Falcons for an afternoon game against the Miami Dolphins. After that game was over, Sanders hopped on a plane and headed to Pittsburgh. He landed in the Steel City and put on a Braves uniform.

Sanders did not play officially in the baseball game, but he did don two uniforms in one day in two different sports in two different cities at the professional level, something that no other athlete has done.
