Sports history in Black: High schooler Kwame Brown drafted as number one

On this day in 2001, basketball player Kwame Brown was drafted by the Washington Wizards and taken first overall.

Brown made history, becoming the first high school player to be drafted number one overall. Much has been associated with his name including his NBA career and his YouTube videos. There are varying opinions about his NBA career but no one can take away this bit of history.
