SPORTS HISTORY IN BLACK: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar doesn’t want you to know about this

Former Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is one
of the greatest basketball players of all time. He dominated in high school and college,
and he came into the professional ranks as a dominant player as well. Over his career,
he averaged 24.2 points per game. But every now and again, a player can have an off
night. That off night for Abdul-Jabbar happened on Jun 6, 1982.

Abdul-Jabbar’s Lakers were taking on the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Finals, Game Five. Abdul-Jabbar could not get going, only scoring six points, which was his all-time
playoff scoring low. The Lakers would go on to lose that game against Philadelphia 135-
102.
