On Feb. 7, 2023, LeBron James came into the game within reach of Abdul-Jabbar’s record. And with 10.9 seconds left, James hit a fadeaway jumper. That shot would give him 38.388 points, propelling him past Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time scoring list. That record for Abdul-Jabbar stood for almost four decades before James passed him.
