When fans weren’t emulating Jordan they were trying to get a hold of copies of the shoes that he wore on the court. Over the years he played and even past that time, fans were willing to wait in long lines and pay good money for a precious pair.

On October 24th , 2021, a pair of 1984 Nike Air Ships — designed by Bruce Kilgore and actually worn by Jordan during his fifth game with the Bulls — sold for $1.472 million at Sotheby’s to collector Nick Fiorella.

They were the first pair of sneakers to be auctioned for more than $1 million.
