SPORTS HISTORY IN BLACK: Rasheed Wallace traded to the Detroit Pistons

Rasheed Wallace was an incredibly talented professional basketball player who could do everything from defend to shoot three-pointers, but his time had come in Portland.

Many teams were interested, but one team stepped up to trade for him: the Atlanta Hawks. But who knew that would be the best place for him to land?

Wallace was traded to the Hawks on Feb. 9, 2004, only playing one game there with the team. Ten days later, on Feb. 19, Wallace was part of a three-team trade that sent him to the Detroit Pistons. He would end up being the missing piece for the Pistons as they would end up winning the NBA title to finish the season.
