Jackie Robinson is confirmed as the first Black baseball player in Major League baseball history. The second person was Larry Doby, a fact often overlooked.
Doby was selected in July 1947 to play for the Cleveland Indians. Doby played for 13 seasons in the Major Leagues with the Indians, White Sox and Tigers until July 26, 1959. He played his last game in the Major Leagues, finishing his career with the White Sox.
