SPORTS HISTORY IN BLACK: Usain Bolt logs milestone

Being the fastest sprinter in the world is a huge accomplishment, especially for those who are representing their countries in the Olympics.

Usain Bolt took over the track landscape in the time leading up to the 2008 Olympics. He had the ability to blow away his competition in the 100-meter sprint no matter how he started the race.

The culmination of Bolt, the way he carried himself and his domination of the 100-meter race drew all eyes to him leading to the 100-meter run in the 2008 games. He was the favorite and he did not disappoint. On Aug. 16, 2008, Bolt only won the race, but he did so
with a time of 9.69 seconds, which was a new world record.
