SPORTS HISTORY IN BLACK: Wilt Chamberlain makes history

There have been some great players who’ve had some great moments in their early careers.

LeBron James led a Cleveland Cavaliers team to the NBA Finals in his younger years. A youthful Michael Jordan scored 63 points versus the Celtics in the playoffs. But none of these players did what Wilt Chamberlain accomplished in his rookie season.

Chamberlain was a beast as a rookie, averaging 37.6 points per game. But what he did on
Jan. 25, 1960, was simply amazing. He scored 58 points as he led the Philadelphia Warriors to a win over the Detroit Pistons. The crazy thing is this was just the tipping point of his career.
