SPORTS HISTORY IN BLACK: Joe Carter reaches a baseball milestone

Joe Carter is remembered for hitting a major home run for the Toronto Blue Jays in their run up to winning the World Series in 1993. That moment is a landmark in Major League Baseball history. Along with that milestone, Carter had a solid MLB career.

He was known for being a consummate professional who could hit for power and contact. And he did so for multiple teams during his career.

On Sept. 13, 1991, Carter became the first pro-baseball player to have three consecutive 100-RBI seasons with three different teams — the Cleveland Indians, the San Diego Padres and Toronto Blue Jays.
