SPORTS HISTORY IN BLACK: Michael Jordan and the Bulls eliminate Pistons

Chicago Bulls guard Michael Jordan was a talented basketball player and he logged remarkable achievements, but early in his career, he had a Boogie Man and its name was the Detroit Pistons.

Pistons point guard Isiah Thomas and his crew were physical with Jordan and would rough him up while beating the Bulls on the way to eliminating Jordan in the playoffs. Jordan would take this battle personally and starting in 1991, he changed up his offseason routine.

Jordan lifted weights more, adding muscle and getting himself prepared for the Pistons
and all their physical play. On May 21, 1991, all that hard work Jordan did in the offseason with the singular focus on the Pistons paid off. The Bulls would eliminate the Pistons on the way to their first NBA Finals in franchise history.
