Sports history in Black: Venus Williams logs her first year-ending title

Serena Williams is one of the greatest tennis players of all time and has earned all the attention she has received. But while many are thinking about Serena, her older
sister, Venus Williams, also has blazed a trail on the tennis court.

Venus Williams won 22 Grand Slams over her career, which is a mark not many have matched. Along with the Grand Slam wins, she also set off a milestone on November 9, 2008 for the first time. Williams would beat Russian tennis player Vera Zvonareva in three sets in the WTA Tour Championship Final in Doha, Qatar, netting her first career year-ending title.
