RowVaughn Wells, mother of #TyreNichols, said Friday of the five Memphis police officers who beat her son: "You also disgraced your own families, but do you know what? I'm going to pray for you and your families." Nichols died three days after the January 7 beating.
Rodney Wells, stepfather of #TyreNichols, said the family is satisfied with authorities swift response to Nichols' beating by five Memphis police officers. Wells asked members of the public to express themselves peacefully. "Protest but protest safely," he said.
#TyreNichols last words were "Mom, mom, mom," @AttorneyCrump is saying of the man who died after a January 7 beating by five Memphis police officers. Videotape of the beating will be released this evening.
Reports: Police in Memphis, D.C. and New York City are taking heightened measures in case there is a reaction to Friday's release of the video of the beating of #TyreNichols. The young man died after five Memphis police officers beat him when he fled from a traffic stop.
